The iFoot project aims to improve cross-institutional care in the field of diabetic foot syndrome (DFS) through eHealth. Within the project, an intelligent bandage equipped with sensors and a cloud-based software solution based on eHealth standards will be developed, which will enable all parties involved in the healing process to exchange information in an optimal way. With iFoot, an optimized approach for the medical and nursing care of DFS will be implemented, which takes into account individual needs during treatment and enables patients to play an active role in the healing process.

Innerhalb des Vorhabens erfolgt die Entwicklung eines mit Sensorik ausgestatteten intelligenten Verbandes sowie einer auf eHealth-Standards gründenden cloudbasierten Softwarelösung über die alle am Heilungsprozess Beteiligten in optimaler Weise Informationen austauschen können.

Mit iFoot wird ein optimierter Ansatz für die medizinisch-pflegerische Versorgung des DFS implementiert, welcher die individuellen Bedürfnisse bei der Behandlung berücksichtigt und den Patientinnen und Patienten eine aktive Rolle im Heilungsverlauf ermöglicht.
